The project

A 74-year-old Romanian woman lives in the United States, energetic and very much alive, while the authorities back home have her down as dead. She decides to get her identity back, and the search takes her across continents and through her own past, including the loves she lost.

She has one more wish and says it openly: to fall in love again before she dies.

Andrei Dăscălescu, director of the documentary Gone Guy, is developing the film with Augmented Films and Filmlab.

The director
Andrei Dăscălescu’s debut, Constantin and Elena, won the IDFA First Appearance Award in 2008. His Planeta Petrila won the Gopo Award for Best Documentary in 2018.
