The project
A fiction series in development, set around 2007, when Romania and Bulgaria entered the European Union. Its stories cross borders and follow people dealing with migration and questions of identity on the edge of a Europe in flux.
The stills on this page come from Ligia Ciornei’s 2019 short film Undeva în Moldova, a comedy set in 2007, in which an English border policeman comes to work with the Romanian Border Police and ends up searching for a Catholic priest suspected of smuggling cigarettes.
